On June 16, Changping District Government signed the agreement on strategic cooperation framework with China National Petroleum Corporation. Accoding to this agreement, China National Petroleum Corporation will set up its 9 underling firms and R&D institutes in Zhongguancun Science Park Changping Sector.
"Changping is one of the eleven newly developing districts in Beijing. It has advantages in convenient transportation, good ecological environment, and abundant resource in science and education, people and culture, and scenic spots. China National Petroleum Corporation dicides to build its underlings in Changping with penetrating insight and outstanding courage. This cooperarion will play an important role in utilizing Changping’s environment resource, accelerating the construction of Zhongguancun national base, and promoting the development of energy science industry. We signed the formal agreement today and began our win-win cooperation entirely." said by Mr. Tong Genzhu, the Secretary of Changping District Party Committee. Moreover, he promised that Changping District Party Committee and Changping Government would improve investment service environment and Sci-tech’s R&D environment in Changping, and fully support these projects in the agreement.

As a part of Zhongguancun Science Park, Zhongguancun Science Park Changping Sector covers an area of 11.48 square kilometers, and includes northern and southern part and innovation base of Changping Park, life Park, and Sanyiguang Electronic Park. Till the end of 2006, more than 1000 enterprises set up base in Zhongguancun Science Park Changping Sector, in which 293 companies, 16.8% of the total enterprises, specialize in energy science.
