Product Information:
Jianshui purple pottery stems from pipe firing (1821-1850 in Daoguang Era Qing Dynasty). In Guangxu  Era (1875-1908), pottery worker Pan Jinhuai invented the technique of using red, yellow, green, purple and white sand to produce vessel, the color of the vessel is purple, and using pebble to polish, which gets the new technique of purple pottery products. And in Mingguo Era, Zhang Hao, Xiang Fengchun improved the technique of purple pottery and made it well known to the world. In 1953, Jianshui Purple Pottery and Yixing Pottery, Guangdong Shiwan Pottery Sichuan Rongchang Pottery were named as Four Famous Pottery in National Folk Technical Exhibition.
Jianshui Purple Pottery has various delicate products, as pot, cup, basin, bowl, plate, jar, boiler, pipe, four treasures of the study and so on, featuring acid and heat proof, great venting quality and moisture-proof. The boiler can be used to steam meat, which will have great taste and have the function of nourishing and curing; the cooker can be used to storage food, which won’t go bad overnight; the teapot used to make tea which won’t reverse its flavor; put the flower into the vase, which can keep fresh… The deep cultural connotation and charming of purple pottery becomes famous world wide, the products were sold to American, Japan and South East Countries. The raw material of purple pottery is potter's clay around Jianshui Wanyao Village with the reserves of 20 million tons.

Market Analysis:
Jianshui has deep cultural significance, and there are rich tourism resources, historical sites and scenic spots, is named as Ancient Architectural Museum. Jianshui integrates human landscape, natural landscape, national style, cultural of central plains of China and frontier. The high-grade tourism of Jianshui brings increasing tourists. In 2005, the tourists reach 907.3 thousand, income 28.5529 million.
By analyzing purple pottery market, the annual demand is 1 million set, high quality 0.25 million sets, international demand is 0.15 million sets, but the current output and scale cannot meet such demand.

Labor: there are 300 craftsmen, including many professions, like Chen Shaokang, Yuan Yingde, Tang Zhifan, Ma Chenglin. Chen Shaokang is the current master of purple pottery, many of his works were granted prices, interviewed by national leaders. In 1995, he was granted Flok Craftwork Artist by UNESCO. Yuan Yingde’s works were spoken highly by the collectors. So many craftsmen are the technical insurance.
