Construction Conditions: Industrial silicon is a new industrial material. Jiayuguan City is the biggest electric-power generation and dispatching center in the west of Gansu Province with the electric-power installed capacity of 708,000 kW, which will reach 1.308 million kW in 2005. The city and its surrounding areas are abundant in silica resources and with convenient traffic. To construct the 200,000 tons of industrial silicon project can solve the problem of the shortage of the chemical industrial silicon used in producing organosilicon in the country. The prospect of the project is bright.     

Construction Scale and Content: to produce 200,000 tons/year of industrial silicon and set up the biggest industrial silicon production base of Asia. In the first phase, the project is to produce 100,000 tons a year and install two pieces of 25.5 MVA electric furnaces; and the construction content of the second phase is just the same as of the first one.

Investment Budgetary Estimate: gross investment: 2.12 billion Yuan.

Economic Benefits Estimation: The sales income realized will reach 1.92 billion Yuan; profit and tax 130 million Yuan, after the project is wholly completed.

Progression of the Project: The supply of silica resources, electricity and water has been determined; the construction blue print has been laid out.
