Background
The project is to develop cow breeding and milk processing by making use of abundant crop straws in Changfeng County. It will not only provides quality milk to Hefei City, but also stimulate the adjustment of agricultural structure in this area.

Scale and Content
To build a comprehensive breeding farm about 66,700 square meters with breeding capacity of 500 cows and annual output of fresh milk of 2,500 tons.

Market Analysis
The total output of fresh milk in Hefei City in 1999 is 10,300 tons, with per capita 2.5kg, which is only one fourth of national average and one third of average level in developed countries.

Owing to the National "Cow Plan", which is advocated by the State government, there will be a good market prospect for this project.

Investment
The total investment is RMB24 million.

Construction Condition
Shuangfeng Industrial Zone, which is connected with Meichong Reservoir, can provide complete public facilities and abundant natural resources. All these suit the need of cow breeding.

Economic Benefit Forecast
The annual revenue is RMB 4.2 million yuan. The total investment can be paid back in six years.
