Construction of the Dinosaur Fossil Museum

II.Survey of the Project Undertaking Unit:
Tour bureau of Lingwu city, as an enterprise directly under the municipal government, is in charge of the tourism of the whole city, taking command of the development and management of tourism, protecting, exploiting, constructing and supervising the tourist resources in this district, fostering and perfecting the tourism.

III.Contents of the Porject:
The exhibition hall of dinosaur fossils, the ecological restoration of dinosaur, and the silicicole plantation will be constructed in Lingwu city of Ningxia. The schemes of construction are as follows: the exhibition hall of ruins covers 100 mu lands area and the ecological restoration of dinosaur covers 500 mu lands area. The total area amounts to 600 mu or so. The exhibition hall includes: an entrance hall , the excavation sites, treasures display, multi-functional hall and so on. They'll lay special stress on introducing some projects such as the survey, history, developmental research, science and education of Lingwu dinosaur. In order to unveil the mystery of dinosaur, the archaeological excavation of great interest will be provided on the site. The dinosaur century garden will reappear the geographical and ecological environment, restore the excavation of dinosaur and launch the cultural, recreational and leisure projects by means of some ways such as electricity, light and sound, coupled with some contents such as reproducing the fossil complex of dinosaurian eggs, dinosaurian footprints and tail prints in order to increase the visiting projects. The silicicole zone lays emphasis on making visitors visit some silicicoles such as thorn bushes and brambles so that the visitors can have a better understanding of the silicicole and their awareness of environmental protection will also be enhanced.

IV.Condition for the Operation of the Project:
The site where the museum was built gains generous support from the local government. The road is spacious and the land is vast.

V.Market Prospect:
In April, 2005, 5 pieces of dinosaur fossils, which were jointly excavated by the vertebrate department of Chinese academy of science, unearthed in Lingwu city of Ningxia. Among them, the skeletal correlation of one dinosaur fossil which is excavated from pit number 1 is comparatively excellent, accounting for 61% of the intact dinosaur fossil bones. The findings of Ningxia dinosaur provide important scientific basis for studying the geographical features and climate of Ningxia region in the remote antiquity and other questions such as the multiplying and migrating of the pale ontological genera, and have great research value.

2.Conspicuously location advantages: The dinosaur fossil ruins is very near to some scenic spots such as the Shuidonggou Paleolithic ruins and the Great Wall built in Ming dynasty. Besides, it echoes some famous scenic spots such as Sand Lake tourist area and Shapotou scenic area at a distance. What's more, it's also an important link of east line tourism in Ningxia.
3.You can develop some textbooks and consumer goods such as T-shirts and the toy about the dinosaur, and educate the teenagers who are full of curiosity with "inosaur culture" so as to plan and create the geographical and ecological environment in the remote antiquity.

VI.Estimated Investment and Economic Profits:
The total investment of this project amounts to RMB￥120 million, among which, the exhibition hall of ruins amounts to RMB￥30 million (land acquisition amounts to RMB￥5 million, construction amounts to RMB￥20 million, facilities amount to 5 RMB￥million ). The dinosaur ecological restoration amounts to RMB￥70 million and the silicicole garden amounts to RMB￥20 million.

VII.Progress of the Project:
Some part of the museum has been opened outward since the item has been partly excavated.
