The Construction of Xixia Museum

II. Contents of the Project:
The content of the draft on constructing Xixia Museum center covers the historical relic exhibition hall, the unearthed relics exhibition hall of the Imperial Mausoleum of Xixia, the ancient weapon exhibition hall, the coin exhibition hall, the exhibition hall for sacrificing in Xixia Kingdom, the handicraft shopping center, the history research center of Xixia Kingdom, meaning to open up and build a museum center with special theme which reflects the historical culture of Xixia Kingdom. Its sub projects are: the forest of Steles of Xixia Kingdom integrating the epigraphy, stone engraving, painting, calligraphy in an organic whole. The nomadic village of Xixia Kingdom, ancient battle field, archery hunting ground, the shopping center, conditions and customs of Xixia Kingdom are integrated for good places of visiting, amusement and pastime. The Xixia Summer Palace will hold the cultural festival of Xixia Kingdom, show national life and cultural issues of Xixia Kingdom, demonstrate the working and living scenes of Dangxiang Nationality, such as religious belief, literature, art, singing and dancing art, diet, culture, finery and so on. The Palace will be built on the highway entrance of the mountain and close to the parking area covering an area of 50 000 square meters.

III. Conditions for Operation of the Project:
The tourist zone of scenic spot of the Imperial Mausoleum of Xixia lies in the provincial capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (the western suburb of Yinchuan), at the eastern hill foot of Helanshan Mountain, close to the urban area of Yinchuan, covering an area of 50 square kilometers. It was sanctioned as one of the second batch of national key scenic spots by the State Council in 1988.There are 9 Xixia imperial tombs and more than 260 tombs of the emperors relatives who were buried with the dead emperors of Xixia Dynasty, making it the largest ruins that remain in our country. It is famous for its unique architectural style, abundant cultural connotation and scenes and sights of cultural interests. In 1988, the State Council announced it as the national major historical and cultural spots under state protection. The scenic spot of the Imperial Mausoleum of Xixia has high scientific and artistic value for studying culture, history, building, custom and people of Xixia Kingdom. Xixia Tombs fully reflect the characteristics of the historical cultural city of Yinchuan. Therefore, since opening to the outside world, it has become an important window of Yinchuan for foreign cultural exchanges, and received extensive attention both at home and abroad.

IV. Market Profits:
The total investment of the project is about RMB￥54 million. At present, the number of visitors received by the tourist zone of Imperial Mausoleum of Xixia is about 250 000 every year. According to six key elements of traveling, it is inferred that visitor's per-day consuming on average in the Imperial Mausoleum of Xixia is RMB￥75, and the annual income is about RMB￥20 million, which will increase year by year. The preliminary prediction of the investment payback period is 5 years.
