I. Project Title:
Construction and Further Processing of Wolfberry Plant Base

II. Contents of  the Project:
It utilizes exploitable wasteland, saline and alkaline land and low yield land of Huinong district to set up about 660 hectares of wolfberry plantation. Meanwhile, it will develops and constructs the further processing under normal temperature to keep products fresh such as the wolfberry juice of the first extraction, wolfberry oil, the whole powder of wolfberry frozen dried in vacuum, fermented wolfberry wine, composite drink of fresh juice mixed with wolfberry and Chinese date, wolfberry amysole and intravital wolfberry.

III. Conditions for Operation of the Project:
The wolfberry is fond of sunshine and able to bear drought, poor saline and alkaline land. It also has strong resistance to the environment and is regarded as one of the three alkaline soil indicator and rare pioneer plants of the world. Ningxia Plain and Helan Mountain are the best districts to plant wolfberry in the whole country where natural conditions are superior in the three national major wolfberry producing region. Because this area has little rainfall and is not easy to suffer from insect pest, agriculture chemical consumption is far lower than other wolfberry producing regions, it forms the unique quality in the world, namely "high in candy, low in poisonous remaining" and "thin in skin, thick in meat, big in grain and pure in color" . Ningxia wolfberry is praised as "the pollution-free food   "and Ningxia is confirmed as the only medical wolfberry producing area of the whole country by State Pharmaceutical Administration, and becomes one of 10 national crude medical material bases. Huinong district of Shizuishan lies in the eastern hillfoot of Helan Mountain. The cultivated area of the wolfberry is up to 2300 hectares, the output reaches 4500 tons, and the output value reaches more than RMB￥100 million. There are 6 600 hectares of exploitable wasteland in the eastern hill foot of Helan Mountain of Huinong district, which offers the precondition for wolfberry planting so it has great advantage for developing wolfberry planting and further processing.

IV. Market Prospect:
The wolfberry can invigorate the kidney, moisten the lung, raise sex ability of the male, strengthen muscles and bones, make eye bright, etc., and it has certain curative effect to chronic shrinking gastritis, chronic hepatitis, diabetes, etc. The wolfberry oil and wolfberry amysole are used in such fields as top-grade medicine, makeup, health care, food, etc so widely that it is in short supply in the overseas market. The wolfberry can improve the human immunity, strengthen the haematogenous function, protect the liver and step down pressure, strengthen cell's activation and produce products such as healthy beverage, oral liquid, capsule, etc.

V. Estimated Investment and Economic Profits:
The total investment of the project is RMB￥150 million. including the fixed assets of RMB￥106.32 million. and the circulating fund of RMB￥43.68 million. It is estimated that the output value is RMB￥486 million. profit of RMB￥107. 91 million. and the tax of RMB￥77. 46 million. after the operation. The payback period of investment is 3.3 years, the annual profit ratio on investment is 47% and the internal earning ratio is 59.14%.
