Necessity and advantage of the project construction　
Bai-Man railway’s construction is of important significance to promoting the process of utilizing Mongolia’s mineral resources, ensuring Baotou steel company to achieve the goal of “double 10 million tons” of steel output in 2007, and pushing the economic and social development of railway lines areas. Higher in the south and lower in the north, the terrain of the railway land is gentle hill, smooth and broad, geology bottom is hard and so easy for quarrying and suitable to build railway with low cost.

Total investment and fund raising:1240 million total investments are all attracted
Economic benefits:It will promote the process of utilizing Mongolia’s mineral resources, drive the common prosperity of Baotou’s port and areas along the railway with remarkable economic benefits.
Preliminary work:This railway has been listed into the state’s medium and long term railway network plan and feasibility study has been finished.
