Eastern Communications Co, a Chinese mobile-phone maker that produces handsets with Motorola Inc, said profit this year will probably more than triple on improved operations and higher investment returns.
The company, based in Hangzhou, capital of eastern China's Zhejiang Province, didn't give figures in the statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Eastern Communications had a profit of 30.2 million yuan (US$4 million) last year.
