General Information of the Project Unit: Gucheng Wushan Yuhuangjian Tea Industry Co., Ltd. is located in the mountainous area of the northwest of Hubei Province, and well known for its fine-quality tea.It has 250,000 mu hilly areas suitable for afforestation now. The company has 30,000 mu of tea planting, with 59 tea farms under its administration and over 4,000 households, and 15,000 farmers engaed in tea planting. The total assets are USD 3.5 million , with 1.625 million fixed assets, 1.18 million flowing assets, and rate of asset-liability is 45%. In 2005,the company produced more than 1400 tons of tea, achieved USD 5.625 million of output value and USD 562,500 for profits tax, employed 15,000 people engaging in tea-leaves picking, processing , selling,and annual added social benefit is more than USD 2 million. " Wushan Yuhuangjian " tea produced by the company finds a good sale in more than 20 provinces and cities such as Beijing , Guangdong , Henan , Shanxi ,etc.,and and a small scale selling in such foreign countries as Singapore , U.S.A. , Canada , Mongolia, and in such regions as Hong Kong and Taiwan. Wushan town has become “the No. 1 tea town of Hubei ". The leading product of the Company “Wushan Yuhuangjian Tea " is recognized to reach the internationally advanced level by the tea quality supervision and inspection center of the Ministry of Agriculture. 185 prizes have been awarded at the tea tasting parties above the city level or agricultural fair, among them are 6 gold medals at the second China Agricultural Fair. It was appraised as "Chinese famous products” at China's international agricultural fair twice in 1999 and 2001, and was awarded the special prize in "the sixth China Tea Cup " in June 2005. 4,000 mu of the tea garden under the company was certificated as pollution-free producing area issued by the provincial Agricultural department. 480 mu of the tea garden is recognized as reaching the organic tea standards by the authentication committee of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences Organic Tea Research and Develop Center. 16 tons of green tea is permitted to use the organic tea symble. 500 mu 333 of tea garden can be transformed into organic tea garden.
