1. Project Content: The project area lies within the boundaries of Omiaozhen town of Xiangcheng district. This town is one of the three lilyturf root growing bases of the whole country. It is planned to introduce 3 production lines of lilyturf root drinks, three desiccators, 4 slicers of lilyturf root, 6 lilyturf root pulverizers, 3 packers, 3 vacuum packers, and 2,000 m2 workshop to be built.
2. Investment Estimation and Financial Scheme: The total investment is USD 2.5 million, with USD 625,000 self collected, USD 125,000 funded by the People’s Government of Xiangfan Municipal and USD 500,000 allocated by the People’s Government of Hubei Province.
3. Economic and Social Benefits: After this project is built up, it can process per year 1500 tons of lilyturf root drinks, 200 tons of lilyturf root tea, 200 tons of lilyturf root wine, 200 tons of lilyturf root without core, 200 tons of lilyturf root slice. After being built and put into production, it can process 2,000 tons of lilyturf roots every year, realizing USD 12.5 million of output value, 1.75 million USD of tax revenue, 2 million dollars profits.
4. General Information of the Project Unit: Xiangfan lilyturf Root Drink Co., Ltd. lies in Omiaozhen town, Xiangcheng District, Xiangfan city. It was established in July 2002, originally named Tianmai lilyturf root tea processing factory. The company's registered capital is 62,500 USD, fixed assets are 125,000 USD. The company mainly deals with lilyturf root production, processing , and selling, etc.. There are 13 people, with 8 on-the-job technical staff, of them, 5 senior technical staff and 3 intermediate technicians,. The company staffs have been engaged in lilyturf root production guidance, processing and marketing for a long time. They are devoted in work and rich in experience. The company has cooperative relationship with many research institutions, such as Hubei college of traditional Chinese medicine , Scientific and Technological Bureau of Hubei province, Xiangfan vocational and technological institute ,etc. and Jiangxi Huiren Group.
5. Current Status: The construction period of the project is planned to be three years, i.e. from December of 2004 to December of 2007. The detailed steps are: from December, 2004- 2005, the construction of workshop buildings is to be completed; the first lilyturf root drink production line is to be completed; lilyturf root GAP base is to reach 10,000 mu; the construction of slice workshop, core dragging workshop are to be completed; from December, 2005-- December, 2006, the second lilyturf root drink production line will be built up,tpgether with the lilyturf root wine workshop ; lilyturf root GAP base area reaches 15,000 mu; lilyturf root tea begins to be produced; from December, 2006 to December, 2007 the third drink production line of lilyturf root will be built up, lilyturf root GAP base reaches 20,000 mu.
