1. Project Content: (1). Rebuild the memorial archways at the south and north exits of Chenlao Lane; (2). Repair the old manor with protective measures according to its historic appearance; (3). Pull down part of the modern buildings which are not in line with the historical street, and to restore the original state of the Lane; (4). Construct and restore the original stone road of Chenlao Lane; (5). Introduce progressively some traditional industries and manual processing industries, and to reform some manor hotels as conditions are permitted so as to restore gradually the commercial atmosphere of the Lane; (6). Strengthen the decoration and cultural packing of the scenic spots along the Lane, and increase the elements of the Chinese Traditional culture to develop it into a tourist spot by making full use of its historical implications.

Economic and Social Benefits: The construction of the project will make the Chenlao Lane a historical and cultural street integrated with ancient style imitation, tourism, entertainment and commercial business, which is of higher value in cultural relics,tourism and commerce, as well as of the importance to enhance the cultural grade of the central commercial area.
4. General information of the Project Unit: Chenlao Lane is located between the china street and Hangjiang Avenue,with south to north trend. It is a historically famous street and an important basis on which Xiangfan was approved by the State Council as a historic and cultural city.The Lane is over 200 m long and 3 m wide, with the old type one storey houses and stores in brick and wood structure.It was once the most prosperous street of Xiangfan, mainly dealing with cheap commodities and handcrafts, and was usually compared to the"Hualou Street" of Hankou. Now the business prosperity of the street has gone, and it has turned into a residents living quarter. The street is still kept in good condition and its former prosperity is dimly visible.
5. Current Status: Chenlao Lane is now within the development area between Hanjiang River Avenue and central commercial area. If a protective development is conducted to the Lane, it will add a historical feature to the central commercial area and the Hanjiang Avenue.
