Offshore wind-driven power generation plants

Description: Locating in southwest side of "the bell of a wind instrument" of Taiwan Strait, Nan'ao County possesses rich wind-energy resource. The annual average-wind-speed, effective wind-energy-density, annual effective average wind-time are 8.54 m/s. 1101 watt/m2 and 7200 hours respectively. The condition is ranks in best group in the world. After the setting of the first wind-driven generator in 1989, it set up 132 generators with total installation capacity of 54330 kW and annual output of 140 million kWh. According the measurement and calculation, the wind condition on the surrounding sea area is better than on the land. Being an island county, it possesses a huge sea area and provides good condition for offshore wind-driven power generating. In accordance with the overall plan, the project is located in 4 offshore areas around the island. The total installation capacity and total investment are estimated at 400000 kW and 4.8 billions yuan respectively. It is intended to introduce capital for development in phase and in area.

Total investment: 4.8 billion yuan (USD 580 million)
Investment structure: The sponsor provides the offshore area and is in charge of the preparation. The counterpart provides the funds.
Investment recovery period: 10 years
